You don’t really appreciate what you have until it’s gone.

May you never steal, lie or cheat.
But if you must steal, then steal away my sorrows.
And if you must lie, lie with me all the nights in my life.
And if you must cheat, then please cheat death, because I couldn’t live a day without you.

Marvel’s Thor releasing in May 2011

I've never really been a big fan of Marvel Comics mainly due to the fact that their comic books are so overpriced. I am aware that there are Malay-version ones too but I shun them because their literal translations change the whole story

But when Marvel started producing movies, I was actually excited about it. What has been on paper for years is finally becoming real. (not literally) It is always a thrill to see what the movie industry can do to make a comic story happen on the screen, especially the characters. These movie ratings would have one more thing to compare to -- their original story. How well the director mimics the original story pretty much sets the bar on how well the movie sells.

Yesterday, I finally found the time to watch Iron Man 2 and it was better than I thought. Normally movie sequels suck but this one was an exception. The addition of Scarlett Johansson made the movie that much hotter. How can you resist that?!

Lately movies have began to adopt the habit of putting sneak previews of sequels at the end of the ending credits. For Iron Man 2, that's where Thor was introduced, a character based on Norse Mythology.

I set out to find if a movie will be made about him and I was right. It's already in post production and is expected to be released on May 6, 2011, a summer blockbuster. The trailer was hard to find but I finally stumbled upon a link on YouTube to the 5 minute long trailer and decided to share it with the world. (or at least until someone shoots me an e-mail demanding for it to be removed)

Why Am I Blogging Now

I noticed that every time when a month is almost up, I will think of something to post, even if it’s just random-uninformative shit

I have decided to reveal why. And the only reason is because… I want my archives to show every month I’ve had this abandoned blog running on the net.

I haven’t been writing a lot lately because of school and this time it really is because of school. If you were here, you can find me at school, 7 days a week.

There are plenty of things to write about but I never really have time to sit down and think about it. Yes I do think about what I am going to write. I rarely write half-assed posts

But I’m not worried about it,because the numbers of readers I actually get are close to 0 (At least that’s what I think), and they can always look me up on MSN if need be.

And now I leave you with a quote, just because I like how my blockquote design turned out to be

The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in ~Morrie Schwartz

Quotes: Part 1

Lately 2 quotes have been stuck in my head. I don’t know why but I just find them really meaningful and I’m sure most of you can relate to it, if not now, then in the future.

One day you might find out that thing you hate so much, is the very same thing you miss when it’s gone.

Nothing in this world that’s worth having comes easy.

If Only…

If only I had photographic memory, there’ll be almost nothing that I can’t do.

If only eating books will make you memorize everything in it, life would be so much easier.

If only it were true…

Officially Missing You

These 2 Australian-Korean girls have angelic voices. As a matter of fact, I think their singing is better than Tamia's, and I think you would agree too after watching the video. If you like them, you can visit their YouTube channel for more videos.

Before I forget, many thanks to Kroc Camen for his Video For Everybody HTML code. I'll probably talk more about it in later posts. The video plays natively on the iPhone, in Firefox 3.5, Safari 3 & 4 and Google Chrome. On IE, it'll revert to the God awful flash plugin that everyone loves, that is if you have the plugin installed. If not you can just go ahead and download the video.

If you're having problems with playing the video on your iPhone, try refreshing the page a few times or clicking on the direct video link

Read Carefully, Always

I spent the last hour trying to figure out how can a simple math question with log4(0.25(x + 2)3) end up to become 4lnx – 2lny – 32lnz when comparing to answers behind my book. Turns out I was looking at the wrong question all the while. Way to spend 60 minutes of brain power. FML

New Theme, New Blog

I never have many readers to begin with, so this huge change (to me) shouldn’t be a huge problem.

To those of you who have noticed that there are no more posts other than this one, I’ve remade my blog. All old posts have been properly backed up so they’re not entirely gone for good. I may still check back my old posts as reference once in awhile.

As for this new theme I’m currently using, it’s called Tranquil. Mainly because I wanted it to be clean and minimal, giving readers a sense of tranquility. I’ve made some changes compared to standard WordPress themes.

  • It has been written in HTML5 and I’ve made pretty good use of the theme’s function.php file.
  • The sidebar has been removed with all the content moved to the top navigational bar for a bigger reading space.
  • There are no div tags, except for one that wraps the inside of the <!–[if IE]><![endif]–> conditional tag.
  • Only 1 image is used. Others are all done with the power of CSS
  • I’ve somewhat removed the footer and comments link for I see no point in having them.
  • If so happen there comes the need to contact me, I’ve made a contact form which will be used to email me.
  • Permalinks have been moved from the title of posts to the calendar at the side

The reason I cleared all my old posts is because there are countless broken links scattered all around them, which I refuse to check through each and every one of them.

Posts that I will be writing will still be random, ranging form my personal experiences to news that I find interesting. I’m hoping that this new start will be a better one than before.

Following the light of the sun, we left the Old World.
